Hazeltree announces new FinTech Engineering Centre in Venaspace’s flagship listed building, The Lodge

06 September 2022

Hazeltree, a leader in treasury and liquidity management technology for the alternative asset management industry, today announced the opening of a new FinTech engineering centre in the UK’s growing coastal tech hub of Bournemouth.

The new Engineering Centre is being opened as part of Hazeltree’s expansion strategy and to support growing demand for its unique cloud-based FinTech solutions for private markets investment firms, hedge funds and other asset managers across Europe. The company is experiencing rapid growth across all geographical regions, onboarding many new clients to its platform across all commercial verticals and significantly increasing Hazeltree’s global footprint.

Located in the triangle, The Lodge by regional office space provider Venaspace, will officially open on November 1. The grade 2 listed building will be staffed by software developers, product managers and owners, as well as DevOps and client services professionals focused on designing, building, and onboarding new clients onto Hazeltree’s innovative treasury and liquidity management FinTech solutions.

As Venaspace near completion on this 2 year project to revive the previous Bournemouth freemasons lodge, it hasn’t come without it’s challenges but CEO, Alex Bonnet, says “it’s brilliant news for Bournemouth that this international brand has recognised the local talent in this digital hotspot and the attraction of opening its new Engineering Centre in Bournemouth. We are thrilled to be supporting Hazeltree in its expansion and investment in our beautiful town”.

The Lodge has undergone a £1million transformation, designed by Footprint Architects who are also working on the Bobby’s renovation, and will be as showstopping as its glory days in the 1800’s, with nods to its heritage and Victorian design, but with modern infrastructure to make this space a building for the future.

Bournemouth has been dubbed as the UK’s fastest-growing tech hub. In addition to a steady pipeline of talented graduates coming through Bournemouth University’s National Centre for Computer Animation and Bournemouth & Poole College, the south coast city continues to benefit from the “Covid effect” of an influx of young tech professionals seeking new pastures away from London. Hazeltree is actively recruiting from this pool of talent to fill newly created positions in the company.

“We are thrilled to set up shop in the digital hotspot of Bournemouth,” said Sol Zlotchenko, Chief Technology Officer and Head of Private Markets at Hazeltree. “With its engineering power and depth of tech talent, we are confident the centre will help take Hazeltree from strength to strength as we further enhance our best-of-breed treasury and liquidity management FinTech capabilities at a time of increasing complexity in global markets.”
