Meet our Community Managers Team at Venaspace

01 September 2022

This week we would like to introduce our community managers who impact the success of our business centres. They not only deal with day-to-day operations but also are a core part of building our great business community. Here is what they have to say about Venaspace.

Katrin Dakeva, Bournemouth Community Manager

Since my graduation from the University of Portsmouth in 2014, I have been working in the Commercial Property Lettings sector and enjoy every aspect of it – from day-to-day operations to project management and customer service. At Venaspace, I have love the opportunity to work with small start-ups and large international corporations, as it has taught me how to use different approaches while building strong business relationships.

I love that we work very closely as a team at Venaspace, and everyone is supportive of each other. Since joining the company in January 2022, I have been working alongside our CEO and Operations Director, who are passionately working on creating unique workspaces across the south of the UK, and I am grateful I have the opportunity to support them in their mission.

I enjoy going to Bulgarian folklore dance classes, playing tennis and volleyball, baking, doing jigsaws, and crafting in my spare time. I also love nature, and since I moved to Bournemouth, exploring Dorset Nature Reserves has become a big part of my weekend activities.

Holly Moore, Exeter Community Manager

Hello, my name is Holly, and I am the community manager for our Exeter Business Centre, The Mount.

I moved to the UK from Canada in September 2020, one year after completing my master’s degree in Conflict, Security, and Development at the University of Exeter. Before working at Venaspace, I was a Bakery Manager at a local market in my hometown. I enjoy classic Canadian sports such as baseball and figure skating, but since moving to the UK, I have adopted climbing and swimming. When I’m not at work, you can find me at the local climbing gym or swimming pool (especially the brand-new St. Sidwell’s Point, which is just us stone’s throw away from The Mount).

Venaspace is my first venture into property management, and I have loved the journey thus far. At first, it may have been a little daunting, but the Venaspace team took me under their wing and helped me grow into my role. In particular, I have enjoyed joining the Exeter business community, meeting new people, and making connections. Despite my nerves, every group was inviting and helped me grow my confidence. Now, Venaspace Exeter hosts regular networking events and collaborates with other networking groups. Check out our upcoming events on Sept 14th and Oct 31st and stay tuned for many exciting announcements in the near future.

Owain Pentney Ridd, Plymouth Community Manager

I’m Owain, the Community and Building Manager for Venaspace Plymouth, The Apex.

I moved to Plymouth in 2015 to study Geology at Plymouth University. When I graduated in 2018, I stayed in Plymouth and worked in property lettings and maintenance. I moved through a few companies to find the right fit for me. After working within two student lettings companies as the maintenance manager, I decided to get out of residential lettings and joined Venaspace in April 2022.

Outside of Venaspace, I enjoy storytelling, and I am in the beginning phase of writing a novel, as well as long hikes on Dartmoor with my 18 months of Labrador, Astro. I also spend a fair amount of time playing video games. Having just built my own PC, I am finally catching up on all of the big releases of the past five years, having just got into Baulder’s Gate 3 and Divinity Original Sin.

I love working for Venaspace’s newest venture in Plymouth as I can put my mark on the building, helping design layouts of the offices on the first and second floors, order furniture and artwork, and bring in the first clients to the building. The opportunity to talk to many business owners, CEOs, and regional heads has given me an insight into the Plymouth business community that I had not had until now, which means I can feed that back into The Apex to suit the needs of the city down to a t.
