Our Exeter Community Manager’s Insightful September Update

As September draws to a close, our Exeter Community Manager, Holly, shares some recent updates at our Exeter Business Centre, The Mount.

Networking at The Mount

Networking and community are a vital part of our Exeter Business Centre, and September was no exception to our monthly events hosted down The Rabbit Hole. On September 14th, 16 business professionals joined us for our second quarterly Exeter Business Breakfast Meeting in collaboration with Jon Iacomino and Your Partnerships Ltd. We were thrilled to see such a great turnout for a morning of networking and coffee while building new connections and reconnecting with old connections. These events are free for both Your Partnerships Member and non-members, and we invite you to join us next time on January 18th.

With October on the horizon, we are thrilled to share that our Macmillan Coffee Morning is fast approaching. On October 31st, we are hosting a networking coffee morning to fundraise for Macmillan Cancer Support. We have already raised £45 and look forward to fundraising across the month of October. We cannot wait for another morning down The Rabbit Hole in support of this fantastic charity that provides aid to individuals and families affected by cancer.

Networking in Exeter

Our Exeter Community Manager, Holly, has had the privilege of attending some stellar events across Exeter this month. She kicked off the month with a Thirsty Thursday hosted by Exeter Chamber on September 1st and two of their coffee-in-the-city events later in the month. The Exeter Chamber provides a platform for local businesses to meet, network, and visit local businesses across the city.

On September 6th, Holly attended Vic Williams’ LinkedIn Local at the gorgeous Froginwell Vineyard Venue. Claire Perry-Louise shared in her speech wisdom on the importance of community across many facets of life, including professional and personal growth.

Lastly, but certainly not least, Holly attended The Tech Exeter Conference at The University of Exeter on September 15th. There were a number of insightful talks geared at building community in the digital world. We were also proud to offer a 20% discount voucher for our Exeter Meeting Rooms in the goodie bag.

Award Season in the Southwest

We are thrilled to announce that Venaspace has won the BUILD Real Estate & Property Award for Best Coworking Space in Southwest England. We have worked very hard to ensure our coworking hubs in all our business centres provide a funky and functional space to breakout, meet, play, network, and co-work. We are thrilled that the judges at BUILD saw this too.

The Exeter Property Awards have also announced that The Rabbit Hole is a finalist in the Coworking Spaces Category. Launched in 2019, The Rabbit Hole is an integral part of Venaspace Exeter and has since inspired the design of our coworking hubs across the Venaspace portfolio. It has proved a dynamic space for coworkers and office members to unwind, breakout, work, and network. Did we mention we have a beer tap?! We cannot wait for awards ceremony on October 21st at Sandy Park when they will announce the winners.

Our Exeter Community Manager, Holly, was also proud and very surprised to be nominated for a West Country Women in Business Award in the Women in Construction & Property category. Holly joined the property world in February 2022 and has enjoyed every learning curve and experience. While the judges will announce the semi-finalists later this month, Holly is happy just to have been nominated.
