Venaspace Exeter celebrates the 1st week of November

Happy November!! 🍂

Another month has come and gone, and we have been as busy as ever at our Exeter Business Centre, The Mount. Between new members, networking, and exciting collaborations, our Exeter community manager, Holly, has an update on all the news while we transition into the Winter months. 

New Exeter Members

At Venaspace, we value a thriving business community and embrace a workspace that suits various industries.

Our newest member at The Mount is Berry Recruitment, who have moved into a lovely office on our second floor. Berry Recruitment Exeter is a team of four talented and determined young ladies helping candidates find their dream roles everyday. They cover all sectors, including PA’s, Administrators, Sales Executives, Management, Call Centre agents, Warehouse, Pickers & Packers, Drivers, Recycling Operatives, all temporary and permanent positions. If you are looking for a new member to join your team or some general advice on the labour market, give Berry Recruitment a shout in Office 205. Plus, they have a cute head of security called Malcolm, a three-year-old Cockapoo!

Networking at Venaspace Exeter 

We hosted a Macmillan Coffee Morning on Halloween to add to our monthly networking series down The Rabbit Hole. Our team and guests did not disappoint with their Halloween-themed home-baked treats. Our Exeter Community Manager, Holly, baked an array of pumpkin desserts, including mini pumpkin pies, pumpkin cookies, and pumpkin muffins. We also had a pumpkin spice cake baked by Shannon Dymond from Abundant Fish. But the star baker of the event was Berry Recruitment’s Regional Manager, Rebecca Hilling, with her delicious carrot cake!

A big thank you to everyone who attended, baked and donated to our Halloween-themed Macmillan Morning. We raised £140 for Macmillan Cancer Support to assist in their work providing vital aid to individuals with cancer. 

New Collaborations 

Our networking hub, The Rabbit Hole, has become vital to Venaspace Exeter and its business community. For this reason, we are pleased to announce that we are hosting our November networking event alongside Vic Williams and his networking group, LinkedIn Local Exeter. On November 24th, LinkedIn Local Exeter will be meeting at Venaspace Exeter from 9 am to 11 am for a morning of networking and a guest speaker. The morning will start down The Rabbit Hole with coffee and baked treats, followed by a guest speaker in H.G. Wells Conference Room. 

The guest speaker for this event will be the wonderful Sarah Jepson, founder of Six Degrees, an all-female networking group. We are very excited for three networking groups to come together on November 24th, and the best news is – the event is FREE. Networking 

October was a great month on the networking scene, and Holly was thrilled to attend many events to represent Venaspace. Some of the most notable were Funny Business and Your Partnerships‘ Women in Business Exeter Launch. 

– Funny Business Networking

Our CEO, Alex, Operations Director, Becca, and Exeter Community Manager, Holly, attended the first Funny Business Networking on October 13th at The Terrace. They enjoyed a great night of networking, comedy, and fundraising for South West Children’s Hospice. A big congratulations to Nigel Wilkinson, director of WNW Digital, for winning the free evening event down The Rabbit Hole in the charity raffle. 

– Your Partnerships’ Women in Business Exeter Launch

Hosted by Shannon Dymond, Holly had a great afternoon on September 27th at the office Exeter launch of the women in business Your Partnerships group. The lunch was great at the new Quayside Distillery by the Quay, who gave a tour and mini talk of their facility and distilling process.
