Throwback to our most recent events from Bournemouth

24 October 2022

All our locations have been busy in the past few weeks with events, fundraising, building works and office moves. If you missed our social media updates, Kat, our Bournemouth Community Manager, has put this blog together as a summary of all the exciting things that have happened over that past month.

The Dorset Business Growth Networking Breakfast

We started the month of September by attending The Dorset Business Growth Networking Breakfast at the recently rebranded Nice Hotel in Bournemouth. There was a panel on Web 3.0’s and NFT’s hot topics with three industry experts: Steen Stones from YTKO, Josh Williams from Stay365, and Kim Range from Bouran.

Charity Volleyball Tournament

September the 7th Team Venator participated in a charity volleyball tournament organised by MSP Capital in support of Julia’s House Children Hospice and Lewis Manning Hospice. Among the team were AFC Bournemouth, IT provider Quester, Estate agents Frost & Co and NatWest. £5000 were raised in total and split equally to both hospices.

Macmillan Coffee Morning

A few weeks later, on September the 29th, we hosted a Macmillan Coffee Morning in our community hub in Unit 7 at Venator House. We enjoyed plenty of home-baked goods, catching up with clients, and raised £156 for Macmillan Cancer Support. 💚

Many thanks to all our clients at Venator House that supported this event by bringing their own baked treats, such as ginger and chilli biscuits, doughnuts and chocolate chip cookies. Our team also did not disappoint! Our Operations Director, Becca Clancy, prepared a lemon drizzle cake, our Finance Manager, Małgorzata Szajrych, a baked banana cheesecake, and our Bournemouth Community Manager, Katrin Dakeva, a traditional Bulgarian cake. And BIG applause to Dan Claridge from Venator Recruitment for winning our Star Baker award with his delicious tiramisu!

We look forward to our Exeter Halloween-themed coffee morning on October 31st! You can register your attendance and join us Down The Rabbit Hole for a morning of coffee, baked goods, and networking!

The fundraising activities do not stop here!

Fundraising for Julia’s House

Our founder and CEO, Alex Bonnet, ran the Bournemouth half-marathon on October 9th in 1 hour 23 minutes and finished in 14th place. He also came in 1st place in his age group! He is part of Team 13, made up of 13 local business leaders and Caroline Attreed, Corporate Fundraiser at Julia’s House Hospice. 2022 marks Caroline’s 13th year at Julia’s House, and thus she set up the team to raise a total of £13,000, but they have already exceeded their target. This outcome is an amazing achievement, and we are proud to support an amazing cause that helps life-limited children and their families. If you also want to donate, visit Alex’s Team 13 fundraising page.
